I am so excited to be a part of The 100 Day Project this year! Hosted by artist Elle Luna, the idea behind the project is to pick an action and repeat it and document it every day for 100 days. "It's not about fetishizing finished products" she says, "it's about the process... about showing up day after day".
This project couldn't have been more timely for me. Recently has been the first time in a while where I feel like I can breath. Enjoy. Play. I think my creativity has been trapped inside me, being burdened by some very stressful circumstances. But now that my life is more peaceful, it is just flowing out and inspiration is everywhere. The phrase that has been in my head for the past year is, "do something creative every day". I first read this in one of Paper Source's display windows and I just can't stop thinking about it. It has sort of become my motto. I started with little things, cooking, coloring with my little boy, practicing my signature, etc. But now that I have discovered watercolors (which is another blog post) I am so ready to start the discipline of daily painting again. I feel so thankful and blessed to have the opportunity to paint every day.
I have a few hours everyday to work after my little boy goes to sleep and I am completely giving up on TV! (Totally worth it!) My project is #100DaysOfTinySucculents and I'm doing a little 4x4" painting of a different succulent each day. I would be delighted for you to keep an eye out for my progress, and who knows, maybe you will join in too! You can follow along here or on instagram.

So, without further adieu, here is day 1/100; 'Echeveria Chihuahuaensis' from the family of CRASSULACEA 4x4" watercolor on cold press paper.

One of the things that excites me the most about this project is the community. If you are doing a 100 day project, comment below with your unique hashtag so that I can follow along!
